1. What should I do to get admitted to Samara State University?
To get admitted you need to fill in the application form and provide the necessary documents to the admission board.
2. What documents do I need to apply to the University?
Documents required for admission to Samara State University:
Legalized original of high school certificate/diploma and its supplement
Notarized translation of high school certificate/diploma and its supplement
Equivalence certificate
Copy of identification document (passport or other ID)
Visa copy (if submitted to visa regime)

3. What is Equivalence certificate?
Equivalence certificate is a document explaining the kind of education and qualifications you received in your home country in a way to correlate them with Russian system of education.
4. What should I do to get Equivalence certificate?
You need to provide the following documents:
Application; should be legibly filled in block letters and signed by the applicant.
Legalized originals of certificate/diploma and its supplement (the information should include course titles and hours attended, practical classes, internships, course papers, thesis, other kinds of academic activities). The are to be submitted together with the application and are given back after.
2 copies of all documents of education notarized by Russian notary public or 2 copies of translation of all documents of education in Russian notarized by Russian notary public.
Copy of passport and entrance visa for those holding foreign documents of education.
Agreement.
Copy of payment.
NB: You do not need to provide Equivalence certificate if:
You are the citizen of Belarus holding documents of educations issued in Belarus.
You are applying based on the RF Government Regulations # 668, dated 04 November 2003 “On cooperation with foreign countries in the sphere of education”.
You hold documents or secondary education issued in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Abkhazia, South Ossetia.
You hold documents of secondary, vocational technical, specialized secondary, high education, retraining, conferment issued before May 15, 1992 in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine.
5. What is Legalization?
Legalization is confirmation of the document which issued by state authorities or made with their participation being made according to laws and regulations of the state.
It consists in certifying that the signatures and the stamp are original.
6. How can I go through the process of Legalization?
Foreign documents are legalized in Ministry of Foreign Affairs or in any other authorized department of the state where the document was issued; then in Russian consulate or embassy of RF in the country issuing the document.
7. What is Apostille?
Apostille is a method of verification for international documents.
Apostil is drawn on the document itself or on a separate sheet attached to the document; it should comply with the specimen attached to the Convention. Apostil may be drawn up in the official language of the issuing authority, and its provisions may be set forth in another language as well.
Ministry of General and Vocational Education of the Russian Federation is authorized to issue Apostille.
NB: List of the countries which have agreements with RF.
If your certificate/diploma was issued in one of these countries you do not need Legalization/Apostille.
